گریتینگ (Grating) فلزی دست ساز و یا گریتینگ ساخته شده به وسیله روشهای اتوماتیک و الکتروفورج را جهت افزایش میزان مقاومت در مقابل پوسیدگی و همچنین ایجاد ظاهری زیبا، با استفاده از گالوانیزه گرم پوشش می دهند. روشهای نوین تولید و نیازهای تازه در صنعت باعث شد تا گریتینگ با خواص و متریال جدید ساخته شود. فایبرگلاس در گریتینگ باعث ایجاد استحکام بالا و خوردگی بسیار پایین آن شده است. گریتینگ فایبرگلاس در مقابل اسیدها و بارهای ضربه ای مقاوم است. برای ایجاد سطحی با اصطکاک بیشتر و جلوگیری از لغزیدن افراد بر روی گریتینگ، در مکان های مرطوب، تسمه های باربر گریتینگ و گاهی رابط گریتینگ را نیز با ایجاد دندانه هایی، به صورت مضرس یا آجدار انتخاب و تولید می کنند. در برخی مکان ها چون سازه های فلزی، صنایع پتروشیمی و حتی منازل مسکونی، راه پله های بین طبقات را از نوع پله و پاگرد گریتینگ طراحی و تولید می کنند. این انتخاب به علت مقاومت بالا، وزن کمتر، عبور نور، عدم تجمع زباله و دیگر خواص گریتینگ می باشد. نصب گریتینگ در دهانه بارگذاری و با پلتفرم، با روشهایی چون جوشکاری و یا کلاف نبشی امکان پذیر می باشد. اما استفاده از بست گریتینگ علاوه بر سهولت و سرعت انجام کار، امکان جابجایی گریتینگ را برای مواردی چون تغییرات سازه و یا تعمیر و تعویض پدید آورده است. گریتینگ (Grating) که در زبان فارسی به عنوان شبکه فلزی یا ورق مشبک از آن یاد میشود نوعی سازه با شبکههای داخلی است که اساس طراحی آن مبتنی برفرمولهای خمش و کمانش است. با افزایش ارتفاع h میزان ممان سطحی و مدول سطحی افزایش یافته و درنتیجه میزان مقاومت گریتینگ نیز افزایش می یابد. لذا تسمه باربر که به صورت عمود بر سطح قرار می گیرد وظیفه تحمل عمده بار اعمالی به گریتینگ را دارد. ساختار گریتینگ (صفحات مشبک فلزی) قابلیت تحمل بار و نیروی بالا و در عین حال وزن کمتر نسبت به سازه های هم رده خود را دارا است. همچنین با داشتن خواصی همچون عبور نور و هوا، عدم تجمع زباله های صنعتی، زیبایی ظاهری و قیمت کمتر نسبت به گزینههای مشابه به عنوان یکی از پرکاربردترین انتخاب ها جهت پوشش کانالهای آب و فاضلاب، کف پوش سازه های صنعتی و پلتفرم، واک وی، پاگرد و کف پله، پوشش سازه دور مخازن پتروشیمی (دایره ای)، پالایشگاه ها و کلیه کاربردهای مرتبط در صنایع نفت و گاز شناخته شده است.
