شرکت تولیدی باندهای پزشکی ایران BPI (سهامی عام)، در سال 1362 با هدف تولید و عرضه محصولات مصرفی بیمارستانی، جراحی، ارتوپدی و بهداشتی تاسیس گردید. در راستای استراتژی توسعه بیشتر، BPI در سال 1382 اقدام به تغییر ماهیت حقوقی خود از سهامی خاص به سهامی عام کرد. امروزه BPI با سرمایه 200 میلیارد ریال، اصلی ترین و برترین تامین کننده باندهای گچی ارتوپدی (Plaster of Paris Bandage) و زیر گچ ارتوپدی (Undercast Padding Bandage) در ایران می باشد و علاوه بر تامین نیاز داخلی، اولین صادرکننده نمونه تجهیزات پزشکی ارتوپدی مصرفی کشور است. BPI همچنین نخستین تولید کننده پنبه های توپک سفید و رنگی آرایشی و بهداشتی در ایران است. علاوه بر این BPI مجموعه ای متنوع از محصولات ارتوپدی و بهداشتی شامل: باند فایبرگلاس ارتوپدی (Orthopedic Fiberglass Casting Tape) ، آتل گچی (Plaster of Paris Splint) ، آتل های سنتتیک (Synthetic splints)، آتل اطفال (Pediatric Intravenous Splint)، انواع باند کشی فشاری (Elastic Compression Bandages)، باند پانسمان کنار بافته شکل پذیر (Woven Edged Conforming Dressing Bandages) ، باند سوختگی کنار بافته شکل پذیر (Woven Edged Conforming Burn Bandage)، انواع گاز طبی جراحی (Medical Gauze Swabs) ، انواع پنبه های توپک سفید و رنگی (White and colored Cotton Balls)، پنبه های هیدروفیل زیگزاگ (Hydrophilic Zigzag Cotton Wool)، فتیله پنبه ای (Cotton Sliver) و کیسه نخ دار (Plastic Drawstring Bags) را در سبد کالای تولیدی خود عرضه می نماید. BPI در راستای حضور در بازار های جهانی، در سال 2000 اقدام به اخذ نشان CE از کشور انگلستان نمود که زمینه را برای صادرات به اتحادیه اروپا مقدور کرده و به عنوان اولین و تنها صادر کننده نمونه تجهیزات پزشکی کشور، موفق به صادرات کالاهای تولیدی خود به کشورهای انگلیس، مصر، سودان، کویت، عمان، هنگ کنگ، فیلیپین، تایوان، مالزی، ارمنستان، آذربایجان، امارات متحده عربی و ... شد. در نتیجه این دستاوردها بود که BPI لوح افتخار " اولین صادرکننده نمونه تجهیزات پزشکی (ارتوپدی مصرفی) در ایران " را در سال 1377 را از رئیس جمهور وقت ایران دریافت نمود. لازم به ذکر است BPI در جهت ادامه حفظ جایگاه خود، همواره در نمایشگاه های تجهیزات پزشکی داخلی و خارجی از جمله ایران هلث، عرب هلث و نما
