شرکت گلسنگ کویر یزد از سال 1386 تشکیل گردید. اما آشنایی موسسین آن با مواد هیومیکی از سال 83-1382 و در قالب شرکت دیگری به نام شرکت کشاورزی گلزار صورت گرفت. در آنجا بود که متوجه شدیم مواد هیومیکی منشا آلی و طبیعی داشته و بر عکس غالب کودهای شیمیایی که با محیط زیست و سلامت انسان ناسـازگارند، این مــواد چون از دل طبیعت برخاسته ­اند، لاجرم با محیط خاک و کلیه موجودات زنده سازگارند. بر این اساس، شرکت گلزار مصمم شد تا برای نخستین بار گرانول­های هیومیک اسید را از کانادا و سپس از آمریکا وارد ایران نماید. اولین بودن، همیشه امتیازات و مشکلات خاص خود را دارد. زمانیکه اولین محموله کودهای هیومیکی موسوم به black earth وارد ایران شد، با کمال تعجب متوجه شدیم که نه تنها کشاورزان، بلکه اکثریت قریب به اتفاق کارشناسان فعال در بخش کشاورزی نیز با این­گونه مواد و عملکرد آنها آشنایی ندارند. این موضوع شرکت را بر آن داشت تا با فعالیتی شبانه ­روزی با گردآوری و ترجمه مقالات علمی و کاربردی اقدام به معرفی و شناساندن ظرفیت و توانایی بی­ نظیر این مواد به جامعه کشاورزی ایران بنماید. علاوه بر آن، به منظور نشان دادن نتایج مصرف کودهای هیومیکی، توانستیم چند تن از کشاورزان پیشرو را متقاعد کرده تا این مواد را در باغات و مزارع خود بکار ببرند. به دنبال این تلاش­ها، نتایج خوب و استــقبال بی­ نظیر مصــرف کنندگان، ما را تشویق و دلگرم نمود تا واردات آن را از کشورهای کانادا و آمریکا توسعه دهیم. از طرف دیگر، هزینه­ های زیاد واردات، گمرک و مخصوصاً هزینه­ های حمل و نقل که به کشـاورزان تحمیل می­ شد، ما را بر آن داشت که برای یافتن ماده اولیه کودهای هیومیکی موسوم به لئوناردیت و فرآوری آن در ایران تلاش کنیم که در نهایت این تلاش ها در سال 1386 به بار نشست و بدین ترتیب شرکت فن آوری معدنی گلسنگ کویر یزد با هدف استحصال، فرآوری کودهای ارگانیک و سالم از لئوناردیت، بسط و توسعه مصرف آن در کشاورزی ایران و خودکفایی در تولید این محصول تشکیل گردید. شرکت گلسنگ کویر یزد بعنوان اولین تولید کننده کودهای هیومیکی در ایران، در حال حاضر با تولید بیش از 10 نوع کود مختلف و با کیفیت بالا همچنان در این عرصه پیشتاز می­ باشد. ضمناً لازم به ذکر است که محصولات تولیدی این شرکت دارای گواهینامه ثبت مواد کودی
