About National Petrochemical Company
The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is the state-owned holding company responsible for the development and operation of Iran's petrochemical sector. A subsidiary of the Ministry of Petroleum, it was established in 1964, beginning operations with a small fertilizer plant in Shiraz, and has since grown into the second-largest producer and exporter of petrochemicals in the Middle East.
NPC oversees the planning, development, investment, and management of petrochemical complexes across Iran, producing chemicals and intermediates, industrial polymers, fertilizers, and metals. Its key products and exports include ethylene, polyethylene, methanol, urea, ammonia, benzene, sulfur, PVC, and propylene, supplied to domestic industry and international markets.
