This wine-colored ground spice is one of the most useful but least known and most underappreciated. It has an appealing lemon-lime tartness that can be widely used. Jujube fruit, or Annab as we call it in Iran, also known as red or Chinese date, is native to Southern Asia but has become popular around the world.
