More than 10 years after Khwarizmi Technology Development Company, officially getting started its Knowledge-Based activities, this name has become synonymous with the word “catalyst” and services related to this strategic product throughout the steel, refining and petrochemical industries. Khwarizmi produces all types of adsorbents and catalysts required for direct steel reduction units that produce sponge iron by DRI method, ammonia and methanol production chain catalysts, as well as hydrogen production chain catalysts in refinery units, liquid oil hydrogenation catalysts, ODS and Active Clay catalysts. In 2022, all types of Hydro-Treating catalysts for liquid hydrocarbon cuts were added to the company’s product portfolio, and a number of other strategic catalysts required by various industries are in the technology development stage, which will reach to the industrial production this year. Khwarizmi Company is one of the largest producers of active zinc oxide and sulfur removal absorbents in the Middle East region, which has produced and delivered more than 5000 tons of these absorbents to its customers in various industries. Also, by developing the technical knowledge of recovering base metals from spent catalysts, in addition to scientific successes and winning the award for the best design of the International Khwarizmi Festival, Khwarizmi has a production line of nickel ingots and the recovery of other base metals among its other production lines, and thus it has fulfilled a large part of its needs for all kinds of base metals used in catalysts.
