Iran Electronics Industries (IEI), known in Persian as SAIRAN, was founded in 1972 with initial investment from the Iranian government. Headquartered in the Pasdaran district of Tehran, it grew from a maker of household and consumer electronics into the largest electronics manufacturing group in the country, overseeing several major subsidiaries with industrial complexes in Tehran, Isfahan and Shiraz.
Today SAIRAN operates as a diversified holding active in communications, optics and electro-optics, semiconductors, computers and medical equipment.
